March 27,2006

Board Attendees: Kelly Small, Chet Oberhelman, Paul Santos, Chris Johnson, Gina Golden, Jonah Mytro, Lynn Jones
Other attendees: Dave Castanon

Minutes from last meeting were accepted.

Treasurer report- Lora sent via email the treasurer's report.

Registrars report- We are 170 members ahead of last year at this time and have a chance of breaking 2000 adults
for the year which will be the first time in many years. ****Why more this year?? Good Question!!

TD report- National registration seems to be down from last year. Part of the reason is possibly due to people being concerned about the state of New Orleans despite reassurances to the contrary. Coed at Nationals is full.

Referee report- No report

NERVA report- Junior are growing. The next meeting for NERVA is in May in New Orleans. Dave encouraged anyone from the board to attend the meetings in his place.

Ratings report- Women's ratings - Final letters went out and life is good. Would like to consider one more at each level for next season. Men's final letters are also out. The ratings freeze went into effect March 15th as opposed to April.

Newsletter report- No report

Web editor report- Our ISP has upgraded our servers and operating system. We've also now been limited to 1Gb of storage, down from 5Gb. However we're only using a little over half that, so not a big concern yet. Speed is a lot better for me when doing updates. Seems slightly faster for web access. Both the scorekeeper and R2 accred tests are up and running. So far about 2 dozen folks have taken each test. If things hold like previous champ seasons, the floodgates will open with about a week before champs start. Planning and work for the 2006-07 PAVO/NCAA/USAV Referee on-line tests has just started. A new page (www.yankee.org/champs) was created to have a centralized location for the champs info.

GRC report- In the process for designing prizes for champs. Discussed criteria for MVP and how/who will vote. Also, would like team pics of all winning champion teams and should we supply disposable digital cameras in the TD packet. Dave also suggested we pay a small stipend to the TD for taking the pictures. Chet also talked about having more scrambles next year to increase new membership.
